Scenarios and Exercises

Page history last edited by Dave Macneil 8 years, 5 months ago

These scenarios are to help you explore Discover and see how well you know the new catalogue.  Some of these exercises might take longer than others to figure out - but you have the knowledge to answer all of them!  So, good luck!

Scenario 1. A young couple just got back from their honeymoon it Italy.  They want to learn Italian, but rather watch some Italian films with English subtitles, rather than learn from a CD or book.  They aren’t scary movie fans, but will watch any type of feature film - a romance, comedy or action film.

Scenario 2.   An avid reader of Diane Mott Davidson would like you to recommend a couple of new authors who also write culinary mysteries.  Nothing too graphic.  And, don’t forget the recipes!

Scenario 3.  A patron is pregnant and looking for local community prenatal classes.  Can you find them for her?

Scenario 4.  Oh no!  You forgot to add the links to your most recent blog post on Chick lit featuring Sophie Kinsella.  Now you have to create a link for Chick lit AND a link for Sophie Kinsella!

*If you get stuck on any of these scenarios or want to share something you've discovered - whether it's a strange function or something really interesting, please email the Database & Metadata Manager (Dave MacNeil): macneid@halifax.ca
